PHAROHS ANT Pharohs Ant is found in warm heated buildings and has a
golden colour to it. Pharoh's Ant has been found in New Zealand Hospitals.

live along electrical wirings. Pharoh's Ant presents a health risk to Hospitals

Pharoh's Ant has a behaviour called "budding". This where when the nest is under
stress the colony splits up into smaller nests and relocates. Care must be taken
when treating Pharoh's Ant that as colonys that split up in this the budding process
can go deeper into the building's structure, making them harder to successfully treat.
Pharoh's Ant responds well to certian baits available through Pest Controllers.

An initial inspection is vital to find nests, and Ant trails. If the nests are found,
their destruction is quickly achieved using the appropriate chemicals. If the nest
not be found Ant trials should be indentified and the used to bait the nest.
